What to Expect

WELCOME

If you’ve decided to visit a service, we look forward to meeting you! There will be a welcome table with friendly people who can show you where to go, check your children in for River City Kids, or answer any questions you might have. For those who need a little jolt, coffee is always available.

You may expect to experience the following during our worship services:

MESSAGE

The preaching is always centered on God’s word, seeking to communicate it in ways that are relevant to God’s people today. If you are looking for a snippet of what to expect, prior messages can be found here.

COMMUNION

We take time every Sunday to celebrate The Lord's Supper and welcome all Christ-followers to participate in this sacrament of worship and remembrance.

MUSIC

We enjoy many different songs of worship: new songs that are rooted in biblical truth and classical hymns that have been sung for generations. Regardless of the song or style, worship at River City Church is participatory -- a community of people lifting up praise to God.

PRAYER

There will be multiple times in the service where we pray corporately. This will be led by the pastor, the worship director, or a qualified leader.

There will be opportunities for confession, silent prayer and reflection as we contemplate what the Lord has done for us. If there is a particular need for prayer, the pastor is available after the service to pray with you or for you.

OFFERING

We seek to give generously as an act of worship, obedience, celebration and thanksgiving to the Lord. We do not regularly schedule a time for the offering during the Sunday morning worship service, but you will find an "offering church" at the back of the room. You can also give online, here.
